Within this page, you will get to know more about me as a student, my goals for after undergrad, and what I enjoy to do in my free time.
First things first, My name is Lande and I am a communication major with a conncentration in media and a minor in journalism. I am thinking about adding a French minor after this semester, but we will see. I recently transferred to NCSU in the midst of the pandemic from a tiny school in Asheville called Brevard College where I was a student athlete. I played volleyball there on scholarship, but realized that I wanted a different/normal college experience so I made my way to Raleigh. I am supposed to be a junior but since I transferred, not all of my credits came with me. So, I am in limbo between my sophomore and junior year.
After I complete undergrad, I would consider getting my masters but I am not sure if I want to go straight into a masters program, or if I want to wait a year or so. So I can get some experience in the work I want to get into. The work that I'm reaching for is pretty basic compared to everyone else in my major and conncentration. I want to be a journalist. But not like on the news or anything because I get shy talking infront of people. I would prefer to do the writing and research myself, and let someone else tell the story. My dream company to work for would be Vice or NPR. Or if I wanted to take more of a media approach and a less of a journalism route, I would love to work at Bon Appetit.
